Blessed with parents who loved music and had music playing all the time at home. Mother from Illinois countryside and Father from the big city of East St Louis. This resulted in hearing classic country, hillbilly, blues and big band music being played regularly around the house. Growing up in the 1970's "disco" and "rock star" era, left few outlets to play music I loved. Hearing the Ramones in 1977 inspired me to go back to the basics. Play what I liked and not have to own a private jet to be a live performer. Rockabilly and Bluegrass have always been so powerful and exciting to me. Since I didn't know any bluegrass players at the time, my high school friend and I started a Rockabilly band. Later I connected with the South West Bluegrass Association and started my bluegrass journey. Still on that journey today.
